Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

Posted: April 25, 2012 in Blog Hops, Papertrey Ink

Here is the photo that we are using this month to spark our inspiration..

I love the Anniversary set from Papertrey Ink called Pretty Peonies, it’s just soooo pretty, so as soon as I saw the inspiration photo I knew I wanted to create something using some of the colours.  On looking back I probably should have gone for something with pink in it, but honestly when I first saw the picture, this was what came to mind, and as these things are supposed to spark our inspiration, I thought I should go with my first instinct.

I used some of the original inks from Papertrey Ink for the peonies which I don’t believe are available anymore, and then went over them in Enchanted Evening ink for the outlines.  I then used Summer Sky by Memento as a substitute for Spring Rain as I don’t have any just yet for the outline only peonies.  I then stamped a leaf from Leaf Prints in New Sprout by Memento.
I stamped a frame using Fillable Frames #11 using Chartreuse (old ink, not to be confused with Simply Chartreuse, new ink colour), and then added the sentiment from Happy Day Stamp set, and a small flourish from the same set.  Sometimes those small flourishes are so small I originally don’t see them, but they can make all the difference when finishing off a sentiment I feel, so I am glad they include them in the sets!  I added some ribbon from my stash, and a Simply Chartreuse button threaded with twine to finish off the card.  I hope you like it and I can’t wait to see what everyone else has created!

Thanks for stopping by..
