18th Scrapbook Day 8

Posted: February 29, 2012 in Papertrey Ink

Hi there

Page 8 was one of my favourite pages to do I have to say.

It was inspired by This layout by Keisha Campbell from the blog A Bit East Coast.  I have followed her blog for a long time now since she lived in China.  I am in love with her photography.  She has two absolutely GOR-JUS daughters and an adorable dog. Oh and she has the BEST taste in home decor too.  I secretly dream of being able to live with her for the weekend just so I can drink in all her design ideas and tips.  Ah well, I can admire from a distance I suppose!  A girl can dream lol!

For my flowers I stamped them using a Stampin Up! petal stamp, and then cut around them.  I absolutely LOVE this paper, and wish I had more of it.  I don’t even know who it is by or where I got it (insert sad face here)..

The tags were cut from a Fillable Frames #9 die, and I used the Banner Builder Die toppers, and a flower from the Beautiful Blooms #2 folded in half.
The white flowers are Beautiful Blooms #3 dies that I cut from my stash of ‘only to be used in an absolute emergency’ paper that I have.  I figured my DD was worth it, so I cut into it.  The little gem flowers must be at least 10 years old.  I bough them when I first started crafting, but then they didn’t seem to ‘go’ with anything I created.  Does that happen to anyone else?  So they have stayed unloved in the bottom of a drawer, until I did this layout, and suddenly they were just the perfect thing.  Love it when that happens!

I personally love this photo of my daughter, taken by a friend when they went surfing a couple of years ago, so I had to scrapbook it!

18th Scrapbook Day 7

Posted: February 28, 2012 in Papertrey Ink

Hello again.

Welcome back to page 7!

I love this photo of my two kids.  It just says so much to me.

Whilst my son absolutely idolises my daughter, sometimes she can see him as sort of an annoying fly or somesuch other creature.  I love it, and I knew my daughter would love it too..

For the title of the page I used the negatives of the Double-Ended Banner Dies from PTI and used Fresh alphabet stamps to write ‘Sibling Love’ in the space that was left..

The layout itself was inspired by This layout by the Uber talented Leigh.  I used my Fillable Frames #9 for the tags and then layered the Banner Builder dies top pieces to finish them off,  I stapled them to the tags, and liked the way that looked.  The tags are ‘hung’ on the page using some Divine Twine.

The vellum quote strip was perfect for what I was trying to say and came from Florida (you all know the story by now!)

I did some journaling on a Library Card stamp from PTI, that is fitted into a Library Pocket Die from Papertrey also.

18th Scrapbook Day 6

Hi there

Back again for the next page layout!

This layout is inspired (or rather downright copied lol) from Leigh from the blog To the Full.

I used the same flourish stamp from Fancy Flourishes by PTI.  The flower is a Beautiful Blooms #1  die by PTI also, cut from patterned paper and inked at the edges to give a little more definition.

The journaling strip is cut from Kraft card stock and I used the PTI Half & Half dies to shape it.

Although I am not a great lover of my own handwriting Leigh assured me that when my DD looks back on this, she will be glad of a little piece of me on the page, so I wrote it as neatly as I could.

The vellum ‘Fun in the Sun’ strip was from the famous K&Co quote book that I got in Florida a few years back.

18th Scrapbook Day 5

Hi there

Welcome back to day 5 of my (one and only) scrapbook tour.

Today’s page was inspired by this page layout (scroll down to the 3rd layout) by Leigh.

I used the Die-Namics BUTTERFLIES dies by MFT using scrap pieces of paper again.  Just the brightest ones I could find..

The vellum quote overlay is from the same book I bought when I went to Florida years ago by K&Co.

The alphabet stickers were bought in the same store, so I have no idea who they are either I’m afraid.  (Bet you’re thinking right now, what a waste of time I am blogging this stuff without a complete supply list…  I’m sorry!!)

The little butterfly is a K&Co sticker that I picked up whilst I was in a craft store in the UK.  As there are NO craft stores here in Tenerife I have to get what I can, when I can lol!!

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop

Posted: February 25, 2012 in Cards, Papertrey Ink

Hi there.

This is my very first time playing along with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  I have never been able to participate before..  Mainly because I don’t get much crafty time to myself, but after ALOT of help from my PTI forum buddies when I had lost my mojo, I spent yesterday making some cards, and one of them happened to be an interactive card, so I was thrilled to think I would be able to participate after work today.

Here is my card.

I haven’t received my spinner dyes yet, so had to go back to Nichole’s (very helpful) video tutorial and try and work it out myself.  I can’t wait till my dyes gets here, it will be as easy as one, two three then!

I used the Big Birthday Wishes stamp set to stamp the ‘and fabulous’ part on the underside of the card, so that it would show through the spinner space.  For the background, I used A Little Argyle, and (although you can’t see it very well in the photo) after I had stamped the black criss cross over the design, I went back in with versamark and then added clear glitter emossing powder, so IRL it’s very sparkly..

I used the Tag It’s #10 stamp set for the spinning element.  The 21 which was cut out using the By the Numbers Die was cut out of PTI coasters and then I cut out the numbers again using DP and stuck the two together.  I mounted the numbers on a Mat Stack #4 Die Cut that had been stamped using the Modern Wood Mats Stamp set.

I hope you like it!  I can’t wait to see everyone else’s creations.

18th Scrapbook Day 4

Posted: February 25, 2012 in Uncategorized

Hi there!

Welcome back to the next page of my daughter’s 18th birthday scrapbook.

For this next page I was inspired by this page by the very talented Leigh..

I used the double ended banner from Papertrey Ink to type the journaling, and then cut then into strips and add them to the banners.

All of the banner pieces were scraps from patterned paper that I just can’t bear to throw away… I knew that if I hold onto them for long enough they would come in handy!

The girlfriend strip is actually cut from a piece of 12×12 patterned paper that I had in my stash, and the Everlasting Love vellum overlay is from the K&Co block that I bought whilst I was on holiday in Florida several years ago.

18th Scrapbook Day 3

Hi there

I only got one shot of this page, I thought I took more, obviously not. Probably not a bad thing given the quality of the shots ha!

I decided to try a banner along the top of the page. I used Papertrey Ink’s Banner Builder Dies, and some pink twine from Divine Twine. I stuck it down using a method I saw on Lily Pad Cards, otherwise I would never have thought to do it TBH!

The letters were from a pack, and again I decided to used both the negatives as well as the positives of these. Something I would never have been comfortable doing before now!

All in all a very simple layout, but I ended up liking it anyway.
